NEWSWORTHY NOTES 

COSE TEN UNDER10 AWARD:

C.J. Hendry & Associates, Inc. is proud to be the recipient of the Cleveland Council of Smaller Enterprises award as one of their top ten small businesses in 2010. President, Carol J. (Hendry) Ball, Vice-President, Susan J. Zacharias, & Treasurer, David R. Ball, accepted the award at the COSE Business Expo at the IX-Center in October. Carol thanked the support group who were present at the award luncheon: Heather Dodig, Vice-President of PNC bank, who provided funding to make our 2008 physical expansion possible; consulting clinical psychologist, James E. Kaplar, Ph.D. and consulting psychiatrist, Said Haidar, M.D., for assisting us in maintaining clinical excellence; Mark Gallegos and Sharon Dominguez of Practice Management Consultants, LLC, for their comprehensive billing services,,and Christine and Gerry Swartz of Educational Alternatives for their support when C.J. Hendry was a fledgling organization. Above all Carol thanked the counseling and administrative staff of C.J. Hendry & Associates, whose dedication and commitment to the practice made the award possible.

Heather Reynolds, LPCC/S
We welcome Heather Reynolds to the C. J. Hendry & Associates staff as a Clinical Counselor and Supervisor.  Heather was formerly on the staff of EMERGE Counseling Ministries in Akron, Ohio as their Program Director. 

Patricia Griswold,  LPCC                                                                                                                            Patricia  completed the rigorous requirements of the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist Board and received her independent counseling licensure.     

Christy Samms, LPCC
Christy passed the NBCC’s exam which fulfills part of the requirements for her independent licensure.

Ashley Culver, LPC/CR
Ashley received training in Myers-Briggs Personality Type Inventory and is now MBTI Certified. She also completed volunteer work at Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Medicine and obtained the Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification.

STAFF RETREAT:

The C.J . Hendry staff gathered together, on a beautiful, cold, snowy day in early January, at the Jesuit Retreat House, Parma, under the able leadership of Josh Landis.  The day provided the opportunity for rest, refreshment and reflection as well as a process of discenment for the future.                                                                                                                                                                                      

INSIDE BUSINESS: ONE 2 WATCH:

Mark Gallegos, President of Practice Management Consultants was featured in the January edition of the Cleveland publication, Inside Business. Mark began his career as an mental health insurance billing specialist as an Intern and later staff member of C.J. Hendry & Associates.  We are proud of the great contribution Mark currently makes to provide comprensive  billing and excellent service to professionals in our field.  Congratulations, Mark! 

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES:  

C.J. Hendry company officers, Carol J (Hendry) Ball, LPCC/S, BCPCC and Dr. David Ball, presented workshops on February 12, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Vancouver, WA., as part of the Order of St. Luke, the Physician Conference.  The theme of the conference is The Heart of Wholeness.  Carol's topic was Journey Toward Wholeness.  David's workshop was entitled Listening with the Whole Person.

David and Carol are privileged to serve on the Board of the Institute of Christian Healing which incorporates Christian Listeners USA (CLUSA), dedicated to bringing the Acorn Christian Foundation's Christian Listening training from the U.K. to the USA. The Board met at C.J.Hendry offices in March 2010.
